![]() For the records: the genere will be rock/hard rock, a lot guitar oriented (of course), I'll use an M-Adio Fast Track Pro and Pro Tools, all the guitars and bass will be recorded mic'd (I've a very beautiful soundproof room ). really, I'm not good with that kind of stuff at all ). I'm used to compose drums via softwares that allows you to write actual music parts (with notes, pauses and so on) and I'm not used to MIDI only softwares (dragging colored squares on a Tron-like circuit. So my question is: I'll be composing/exporting drums via Guitar Pro 6, is it a proper tool/software or I can find something better? My main concern is the "real hand" feel. I'm looking to have an "as real as possible" drum tracks sound and, of course, I've been headed to EZ Drumer for the rendering. I'll be not using any real drums, so the main thing will be to compose and "play" the drum tracks. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.I'm gonna do some home recording again (after many years) but this time I'll be recording my solo stuff so I'll be doing all the tracks/instruments by myself (aside some sporadic help/fun with my formers bassist and lead guitarist and some friends from other bands). BTW - if I try this with any other drum source (BFD, Velocity, RM V) everything works fine.Īny and all suggestions are appreciated. I must be overlooking something that is messing up SD but I can't figure it out. However, after trying to play the same track, this procedure no longer works. ![]() Interestingly, clicking on a note from the downloaded MIDI file from within the Piano Roll intially triggers SD and a sound is produced. I have tried remapping the notes to Channel 1 (SD default channel) manually and have also done the same through a Drum Map translation. I am completely stumped as I have confirmed most of the things I understand about MIDI are correct. The only thing that resets SD is reloading a drum program. Clicking on the drums no longer produces any sound and recording a new MIDI track with my keyboard no longer produces a sound thru SD when played back. The output is assigned correctly and I have tried both direct assignment to SD and assignment via DrumMap Manager.įrom this point forward, I cannot get the SD instrument to play. It appears that the MIDI track does not trigger SD although I have confirmed that the correct MIDI notes are being sent. It's important to note that at this point I can still click on the drums in the SD instrument window and they play fine.ĥ) The problem occurs once I hit play to play the MIDI track. I delete all tracks but the MIDI drum trackģ) Insert SD 2 or 3 as a soft synth (w/ an associated MIDI track) and load a drum programĪt this point I have confirmed that I can record MIDI data using a keyboard and playback through SD fine.Ĥ) I then drag the downloaded MIDI track into the SD MIDI track or I assign the output of the MIDI track to SD (have done it both ways) The subsequent import process if very simple.ġ) Create new project with no tracks in SonarĢ) Drag MIDI file from Win Explorer into the tracks pane which creates separate tracks for each instrument. I do this to get the drum track to songs I want to record in Sonar 8 Producer. I often download guitarpro tab files from the internet, open them in GuitarPro 5.2, and then export them to a MIDI file. I have a frustrating issue that occurs with both SD 2 and 3 but cannot isolate the solution. ANSWERED: Assigning GuitarPro imported MIDI drum tracks to SessionDrummer 2 and 3
